As readers of this blog may know, I’ve been shooting regularly for a new magazine called The Simple Things, so you can imagine how happy I was when I was asked to shoot one of their covers (front & back!). Naturally, it had to be pink and have macarons on it. I also shot a Christmas cocktail feature which you can see below. I shot a lot of images, and as the feature was only a few pages long, they couldn’t use all the images I supplied, so I’ve included some here that weren’t featured in the magazine.
Do you remember my churros blog post? Well, they also liked my churros images so much that they featured them in the ‘Food From Afar’ feature in the same issue. The last shot below shows a sneak peek of what’s to come in the next issue - the Christmas images that I shot for my magazine last year including others I never published before - oldies but goodies. More on that next month.
In other news, I’ve just finished shooting my macarons book. It’s been a fun & crazy two months and I’ve loved every second of it. The book is filled with 50 recipes, each with an accompanying image. I also shot the cover which I’m very excited about and all the chapter openers too. I wrote, propped, styled and shot the whole book and it was an amazing experience - I couldn’t be happier or more excited to see it all come together. For those of you following me on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen some behind the scenes from my shoots and prop days (many more to come!). The book now goes to design, and hopefully should be out by spring next year.
I’m also happy to share that I’ve been offered another book deal which I’m jumping right into (no time to rest!). I’m also going to write, prop, style and shoot this one, and I can’t wait to get started on that. Very exciting times! Keep watching this space – many more fun things to come.
Finally, I’m very excited to share that this little blog of mine has been featured on a few great websites over the past few weeks - I'm in such great company and you really should check out the other sites featured in the links below as they include some great photography features and food blog recommendations:

Now to get on with some Christmas planning. Believe it or not, my tree is up already. Yup, you read that right. It's still undecorated, but I've been so excited about Christmas this year, I just couldn't wait to put it up. I've also been invited to a few Christmas parties which I'm helping to cook & bake for, and I can't wait to get started - although I haven't even begun thinking about the menus yet.
What are you all doing for Christmas? I'd love to hear your plans.
